No campaign this year.

I will not run for U.S. Congress this year. I am spending all of my time on my relationship with the love of my life who I married August 27, 2013.

The Environment

The environment is one of the most important issues in the far North Coast.  It is where our wealth lies - the trees, the forests, the coastal range, the ocean, the lakes and the rivers and streams. I propose a world park between Fortuna and Ukiah. We need the oxygen. It may be the last chance on this planet to preserve a special part of nature. All of the remaining ancient Redwood giants should be protected as a national treasure.  There should be no cutting of trees within the sight of 101, to preserve the highway as a visual pleasure. Richardson Grove should be preserved just as it is. In the big rush always to get somewhere fast, there should be one spot where people can slow down to appreciate an old part of the natural world around us.  The integrity of our National Parks and National Forests must be preserved.
Suppose we cut our trees to increase jobs. Sure more people could be put to work for awhile. What happens after that? Then, we have no trees and no beauty. The far North Coast becomes a wasteland.
We need to carefully monitor the level of the ocean on our coast.  Global warming will have bad consequences at high tides up and down the coast.  We need to work with other parts of the nation and around the world to stop global warming. Trading American treasury notes for American Technology is a great way to increase jobs here and improve the environmental conditions all over the world.
We need to increase the use of alternative energy resources. We should put solar panels on all public buildings. We make jobs and improve the environment. When things are produced in environmentally sensitive ways, more labor is needed, more jobs are created.

Homeless

I propose a one time burst to house all the existing homeless. The cost is to be balanced by cuts in foreign aid. A nation should help their own first. At the top of the list are the least among us.The homeless problems or, equivalently, the lack of low cost housing is a national problem. If states and local communities can not or will not act, the federal government should rent or build. If any local area tried to solve the problem alone, people would move there and overburden them.People should be able to have at least a single room. The first efforts should be aimed at people who have had long term difficulties in finding suitable housing.

Prevailing Minimum Wage Supplemental Tax Credit

I propose a Prevailing Minimum Wage Supplemental Tax Credit which allows businesses to claim a tax credit in the amount of the difference between the prevailing Minimum Wage and what the new hire is worth to the business. The loss of income is to be compensated by reductions in the defense budget.

Introduction

My top priorities are jobs, jobs, jobs. My foreign and defense policies are those that Ron Paul expressed when he was in Congress.
